Privacy Policy

The short version — we collect almost nothing and sell even less.

Last updated: February 26, 2026

We’re Y.A.H. (Yet Another Host). We believe privacy policies should be readable by humans, not just lawyers. So here’s ours — plain English, no fine print.

Note: Y.A.H. is currently a project operated by Sven Messmer. For the purposes of this policy, ‘we’, ‘us’, and ‘Y.A.H.’ refer to the project owners, who act as the Data Controller.

What we collect

Not much, honestly.

  • Your email — when you join the waitlist. That’s the only thing you hand us directly.
  • A timestamp — we record when you signed up so we know the order of the line.
  • Basic server logs — our web server automatically logs IP addresses, request paths, and timestamps. This is standard infrastructure stuff, not surveillance.
  • No analytics. No trackers. No cookies. We don’t run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party tracking scripts. Zero.

Why we collect it

  • To run the waitlist and let you know when we launch.
  • To send you product updates (only the ones that matter, we promise).
  • To keep the service secure and debug issues when things break at 3 AM.

Where your data lives

  • Waitlist emails and timestamps are stored in Turso (a distributed SQLite database). Data is stored by Turso in Ireland.
  • Server logs live on our cloud infrastructure stack and are used purely for operations and security.

Who sees your data

  • We don’t sell your data. Not now, not ever.
  • We only share data with the specialized infrastructure providers that keep the lights on (cloud database hosting, web server hosting). They process data strictly on our behalf, not for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist data sticks around while Y.A.H. is active — or until you tell us to delete it.
  • Server logs are rotated regularly and kept only as long as needed for security and debugging.

Your Rights (and deleting your data)

Under the Swiss FADP, you’re the boss of your data. You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct any inaccurate data.
  • Request portability to get your data delivered in a standard electronic format.
  • Request deletion of your data.

Just ask. Email us at privacy-yah@thesven.dev and we’ll wipe your data (or fulfill any of the other rights). Same address for any privacy questions.

Policy updates

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect the moment they’re posted here — we won’t send individual notices, but the “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
